Janie, please do whatever you can to divest yourself of your psychic guilt. Your Sister's efforts on your behalf are clearly born from the love she feels for you & I'd bet my bottom dollar that you do things for her that she can't do. She sounds like a one in a million type of Sister to me & betting that old bottom dollar again, I bet she feels the same about you.

Wendy, your Mother's letter was a joy to read. These touchingly personal insights into the lives of our elder relatives are so precious; an intimate window into a time of fear & uncertainty. I may be wrong, but I think we've largely lost the gentle tenderness with which these letters were written. For sure, circumstance played it's part, but these gems from the past can still inform our present & who knows, guide our future.
