Drawing down the canning jars on pantry shelves and containers from the freezer during the fall, winter, and spring have concluded. Now is the season of fresh produce and beginning to freeze and soon some small batches of canning. So far this hasn't been a very good gardening year, but the growing season is long and fingers are crossed. There is no gain or loss in the household math, the only difference is where the jars live and whether they are empty or full.
