Well Alan Coren &/or Ned Sherrin told the Marie Lloyd tale. And they were pretty studious on the subject of show biz anecdotes.

Another of Marie Lloyd quotes was one where a punter shouted "Show us yer fanny Marie" to which she replied "Shan't now for asking!"
