OH:

The fella that helps me with the yard is great-- he chose this business to do with his teen daughters to teach them a good work ethic, get away from CouchPotatoLand and the after school drug scene, and to be able to spend time with them instead of a second job that would take his time away from them.

They were just here and got so much done:

. Persistent weed bush GONE;
. Lasagna gardening: beds extended an additional 12" into the grass and beds re-mulched;
. Iron cookstove leveled;
. Old toilet relocated as planter;
. Dead wood gathered and removed;
. Persistent weeds dug out;
. Wrought iron chairs unloaded and placed;
. Planning for edging.

What I love about working with Matt is that I get to be on the crew. They HELP me do my projects and I do enough to get a good, sore back-- but not so sore I can't do other stuff later.

The front yard looks ready for company-company-- Celebration Circle, a week from tomorrow. And now I can grab those end of season annuals to set out on top of the mulched beds, for a little color.

I also have garden art items to set out, and my cone to line with sphagnum for a short garden tower, this week, and signs/banners to set out-- good early-morning-cool projects that involve just enough walking. And chair cushions/covers to dress up the 5 iron chairs and 4 lighter weight metal chairs.

The iron stove in the patio is ready to fill with end of season plants too. Yesterday I got caught up with policing dog poop in the patio-- so I can set out the fire pit now, too!

An hour and a half with Matt and daughter Ryan-- I feel like a new woman. I was feeling so overwhelmed yesterday!

Yesterday's sidewalk outreach was spent playing the autoharp out front, working out arrangements to a CD full of songs I want to share. Met two neighbors. Today while working my favorite cashier ambled up the walk on his way to work-- he's a neighbor! Invited to CC!
