Subject: RE: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questions
As a poor whistle player but a darned good surgical physician assistant, I would be interested in how they got to the diagnosis. Was it by EMG? If not, I would suggest that you get one, since this really is a good diagnostic tool. Then, if this confirms CTS, then go to a good hand surgeon. Neurosurgeon? Not really. Orthopedic surgeon? No. General surgeon? No. Hand surgeon. Usually is an orthopod but specializes in hands. Get someone who knows of Harold Kleinert. That will be the ticket. And then, get the surgery. No amount of homeopathic stuff or PT is going to stop the compression on the median nerve by the transverse carpal ligament. A knife will. It is a simple procedure, and, in the right hands (pardon the pun), the surgery works miracles. Good luck to you.
