I worked for 25 years as a government investigator, forced to do a lot of work that I thought was really stupid. Then I retired in 1999, at the age of 51. Now, at age 67, I work just as hard as I did when employed, and mostly without pay. But I'm doing things that I think are worth my time, and that makes all the difference.
