Lass these might be the last ones for a while I am having some problems with the machine so it will be going for a check up.

This one is for Halloween. From the earliest I can remember my dad took me around the Glasgow necropolis . This city of the dead is filled with interesting architecture and people. The city was famous for ship building and heavy engineering and many of these captains of industry can be found alongside the poet who wrote "Wee Willie Winkie"

One of the last times I visited was with My brother in law and his wife and my Dauvit, They watched amazed as I would touch a memorial saying " this was name, he was Trade" I never realised how much of what my father had told me was still in my head.

My favourite stone however is not some fancy mausoleum but a simple rectangle of stone belonging to a Glasgow grocer, how do we know this? well all round the edge of the stone is a list of the things he sold and the opening hours of the shop.

The second is from a cd that came with the book of Scottish folk songs I never realised till I got this book just how much folk songs I had absorbed from my mum. She had a simple philosophy in life If you are happy sing because you are happy if you are not happy sing to make yourself happy.
