Lawrence's force in WWI was only a couple of thousand, and if you add up the Arab half of the Palestine Regiment, the Arab Legion, and those Egyptians who may have fought with the British army, you get nowhere near that number. 1.2 million Muslims I can believe, but not 1.2 million Arabs.
