I don't have a cheese slice but I do have a microwave oven. No need to go to any expense buying anything I have never felt the need for.

I don't bother cutting the butter up. I just put in the block and microwave for 10 seconds. The outside is then soft enough to scrape off sufficient for a piece of toast. After that, I leave it out of the fridge to warm up naturally.
