Not a pie-safe in the sense of a hammered tin door with holes, but a tall cupboard on the side that has wire shelves for cooling foods. The other side tall cupboard didn't have any shelves, it probably had a flower bin and sifter (long gone) and I put in some shelf supports and two shelves to get more use out of it.

I was on my feet much of the afternoon and evening, making cookies, the kind you press out of the twisting handled cookie press. Christmas trees and spritz. The kids' requests. I still have to make some krumkaka (a Norwegian cookie that is rolled after cooking briefly on an iron.) The dusting is waiting until tomorrow.
