Dorothy, the best way to avoid food allergies and hazards of materials used in cooking is to cook for yourself. I hope that at least the new kitchen will inspire the use of it. I got a new stove about 18 months ago and am still learning a few things about how I make old dishes. One holiday cookie, made in a griddle of sorts, used to need the small back burner on one notch below high, but on this stove that burns them and it is closer to one notch above medium.

The kitchen counter is clearer, as are the counters next to the stove. The stuff on the dining table is gradually being put away. I may be ready for guests this year, since we are delaying the holiday meal and activities by a couple of days to allow a global traveler a day to sleep around the clock. :)
