People on some streets have to leave their homes, mountain emergency rescue teams from elsewhere helping with evacuations; police ran out of road closed signs. Some habitats of rare Tansy beetle are submerged--the Ouse banks have almost the only remaining populations of this endangered creature which unfortunately pupates underground.
