The term 'boring old fart' surely originated in the British satirical magazine, Private Eye, which has been published continuously since 1961, popularising the public-school slang of its founders Richard Ingrams, Willie Rushton, Christopher Booker and Paul Foot of Shrewsbury School. Can anyone point to an earlier usage of it?

'Trump' has several meanings, of course, not all of which are what Bert Lloyd used euphemistically to term 'disobliging'. Apart from the obvious meaning of one of the advantageous suit at cards, it was an old name for the instrument variously called jew's-harp, jaws-harp, &c. The use to mean fart is presumably based on the "blast on a trumpet" definition, as in that Last Trump which will be blown by the Archangel to signal the End Of The World...
