2. IGUANA COFFEEHOUSE - UNICORN RECORDS

"The Iguana Coffeehouse" was run out of the basement of Luther Place Memorial Church of 1226 Vermont Avenue, NW Washington DC 20005. I assume that's the right thing (given the "considerable" frequency of the name "Iguana Coffeehouse" and they're both in Washington DC). It started as an interfaith mission to reach the "unchurched." Here is their page. You may be able to contact the church for more information about the record--they may even still have some of the singers in attendance! http://lutherplace.org/about-us/our-history

I actually also found your record online: http://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ebay_items/iguana-60-s-private-folk-coffee-house-various-artists-unicorn-records

Most of the website is fairly useless, but it lists the following artists in association with the record: Steve Geyer, The Immaculate Contraption, Mike Harris, Jerry Diggin, Acquiesce, Geff & Thei, and Kay Carpentre. Also, the catalog number is Unicorn Records UN 12179. It looks like it has some more info on the back of the sleeve--could the date be on there?

Another page I found had an artist named Bob Brown who is now having a resurgence in popularity. Source: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/music/2013/03/06/vinyl-destination-bob-brown-left-the-folk-scene-decades-ago-b

You may also be able to contact the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, who has been an active folk group in the area since 1964. http://fsgw.org/history.htm

So unfortunately, no date, but plenty of leads!
