Checked back on this old thread to research something. Feel moved to add one of my favourite quotations, tho it comes from a book which overall I do not greatly care for -- Laurence Sterne's 'Tristram Shandy', 1759-67:

"We had a fat, foolish scullion ... Master Bobby is dead, said Obadiah; he is certainly dead! –– So am not I, said the foolish scullion."

Not so foolish that time, IMO.

And so am not I!
