I had hoped that this "occupation" would not end up in bloodshed, that the FBI had learned their lesson from other confrontations with right-wingers who sought martyrdom. In the beginning, the federal authorities showed remarkable restraint. Maybe it was time to put an end to it. Too bad it had to end in death, but I think the Bundy crowd was looking for martyrdom.

I live in an area full of Bundys, people who seek to amass huge quantities of weapons to protect themselves from "the government," while professing ultra-patriotism.

Can't say I understand them, but I try to be careful what I say when they're around. I wonder who they want to be President - are these Trump's people?
