There has not been a lot of publicity regarding this incident here in UK; this is the first I have heard of it.

I was fascinated to see, from a news pic that I got by googling, that these protestors had taken pains, in their dress & demeanour, to come over in the conventional image of the cowboy guarding the wild frontier. All sorts of suggestive motivational self-imagery seems applicable.

No comment to make on the rights & wrongs of the occasion, which, it seems to me, are no business of any outsider, especially at this distance. But the exegetics of such symbolism I find of profound interest.
