Well yes, except it's not the media's, and it's not a game. It's the method the oligarchy has been using since time immemorial. The media, having completely abdicated their role of independent observer, have become corruptly complicit.

I think the Tea Party and their odious outgrowths - Cruz, Trump et al. - can be called a radical movement. On the other side, there's Bernie Sanders, who would be considered just slightly left of center in most European countries, but is called a radical in the US because the "center" has shifted so far to the right here over the past 25 years.
