As the weather warms the drifts of dog hair are growing larger faster, requiring a combination of brushing the dogs and then vacuuming the house.

Bird seed is starting to sprout in my garden, so I've pulled out the stirrup hoe to work the top inch of soil and knock down the various seedlings while they're small. I think I've gotten most of the bird foraging of bugs in the garden that I'm going to get for now, so I'll gradually move the hanging bird feeders to different locations a bit away from the actual garden itself. I have a lot of feed left to distribute, so until it's gone, I'll keep the feeders operational. An acquaintance on campus used to talk about a "feeding table" she had up that attracted a huge number of birds - I'd have to figure out how to construct such a thing (maybe put edging on a plank of plywood then set it atop an empty bird bath?)

My seeds are starting to sprout in the greenhouse. I have a lot of decluttering to do out there to get ready for the full-fledged gardening season, so some of that will happen today. The garage needs clearing out, the sun room needs clearing out . . .
