Under the heading "all things are created equal," I've managed to find projects to work on and finish here that were equally important when compared to projects that require the purchase of new or additional materials. So I've extended this "no spend challenge" into this month by simply looking for parts purchased and stashed in the garage or greenhouse or laundry room, and finish the projects they were intended for. It's good for morale and good for the pocketbook. Most recent project, adding a lower shelf to the potting bench I use every spring and summer. I doubled the space by identifying the old lumber to use as slats, with a cross-member to hold them in place, drilling a few holes and inserting carriage bolt anchors. My plants will be happy.
