It's time to change name of this thread to keep it going. Our participation is slow but steady, so just having a declutter thread for 2016 is probably enough. We were ahead of the curve, discussing this before the most trendy books came out.

Last night my daughter and a couple of other friends were here for dinner, and afterward we dove into some of the trunks of antiques I brought back in the early 1980s from a great aunt's estate on the east coast. Every few years, as the kids grew (but in particular my daughter) we find new treasures that suit our current activities. As a theater arts major and costume designer, the late-Victorian hand-made bodices, skirts, and blouses are fascinating to her. And several of them fit her - it was amazing to see them on someone all of these years later. I still hold them here, but they are of course hers - so when she has a place where she can safely store these items, they'll move to a new home. And still probably smell like cedar chest and have fragments of antique ostrich plumes clinging to them.
