I met Mr. Barber in the late 60s when our band supported his band at the South Bank in Grimsby. He was kind enough to tell me that our version of "Mercy mercy mercy" was "more exciting" than his!!.
An absolutely lovely man. He also paid us a compliment from the stage. A very Happy Birthday to you Mr.B and many more of them.
