I'm still drawing down the produce in my large upright freezer; the garden is going in, and though it will be a while until I have crops to preserve, that time will be here soon enough. A batch of beans is finished (rid kidney beans, with mostly Puerto Rican seasonings and poblano and Jalapeño peppers for some heat). This will be frozen in 12 oz jars to take for lunch over the next few weeks. Next, a beef dish with a similar version of seasoning (hotter and spicier) to use for meals at home during the week. That will also use up more stuff from the freezer and pantry.

We have entered what forecasters say will be a week of rain, but before it started I'd made progress in planting the garden. Tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, beans, chard, some of all of that is in - the bedding plants for squash, cucumbers, eggplant, await a couple of dry days for working in the soil.

I'm sticking to the shopping list pretty well when I shop, and making a point of only bringing home things I'm going to work with right away. No more saving up for future projects, too often those items are pushed to the background and not used. Money wasted, space occupied.
