You are absolutely right, Banjoman. This is not the end, but the start of another chapter in this most tragic affair.

If a company were responsible for the deaths of 96 people, together with the injury of many more, then there would justifiably be a public outcry against the directors of that company, possibly leading (these days) to charges of corporate manslaughter against the directors of that company.

The more sinister issue is that the authorities in this case, principally South Yorkshire Constabulary, have not only been responsible for 96 deaths through their gross incompetence, but they have also chosen to cover up that incompetence by a web of lies. They are not simply incompetent, nor just liars - they have been proved to be incompetent at lying - both by tampering with evidence, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Sadly, this situation will almost certainly arise again in the future, so long as misconduct by senior police officers continues to be investigated by - oh let me think - senior police officers!
