Hey Rick, why not go get "Ol Tex" off your friend's wall?

I dunno......What's a "Cowboy Guitar" anyway? No, I'm serious..........If you think back to Roy and Gene and the like, it was pretty small bodied things or often a goofed up looking Martin. If I think of someone like Marty Robbins, I think REAL TINY bodied, parlor really. Or are you going more for some Jumbo style with fancy decor as you mention? The 55 and 65 series Guilds kinda' meet that look and they sound pretty good. Then again, a lot of Opry type cowboy types played "Grammer" and you can still find some of them around here and there.

Seriously....which route are you going here?
