Yeah, I can't find that sort of syncopation on any Paxton recording. There are many different recordings of him doing this song (most of the live). I listened to several, and didn't find it.
In the US, I often hear people do what I think is that kind of syncopation, but only on the last word of the last chorus, "O-ver."
