I always cook enough beans so that I can freeze some. Kidney beans are usually prepared with a Puerto Rican recipe from my late mother-in-law, and sometimes I add heat to that (more of a Southwestern influence, there isn't spicy hot much in Puerto Rican dishes). And I cook black beans so I can freeze them to use in other dishes (it's better and less expensive than buying cans of them).

I have a friend here who is reliable for doing various jobs - a lot of mowing, gardening, taking out trees, but also dry wall, painting, etc. I gave a couple of people his contact information this week and he called this evening to say he was finishing up a job for one of them. Too bad he can't be cloned - there are several participants in this ongoing discussion who could use a fellow who can come by and look at the job to be done, then do it and finish when you expect. He's probably familiar with out houses, but I don't think that kind of task has come his way for many years.

I must have missed the introduction to Sassy. Another raccoon?
