It's time to work on my patio cover - I need to replace the 60/40 sunshade cloth after it was ripped to pieces by hail. It will work for now but slowly fall apart. I'm thinking about using a translucent corrugated (shape) sheeting and make it more waterproof out there. But I also have a tarp I hang to keep the sun from hitting the glass door and baking the living room and kitchen.

Spring is usually rainy around here so I'm going to be doing a lot of mowing this week.

I picked up a little round teracotta grill (think mushroom shaped with a hole in the side of the base of the stem) at a garage sale a couple of years ago, and had researched how to use it - did coals go in the top and the opening in the base just collect ashes, or did a sterno or fire go in the space below and the thing is for warming only? It turns out the first is true - I tried adding some stones to absorb heat from below, but it didn't work, so I pulled the stones out, moved the coals into the top, and what you have is a small grill that can sit on a tabletop and not overheat the table below. The open space is to clear out ashes and let the air flow. It worked beautifully (but got rained on last night so I need to clear it out, oil the grate, and store it till next time.)
