Thank you Ms. Goddess for posting that, it made me feel less alone in what I'm struggling with! I've been trying to rehab and downsize out of the house I shared with my late beloved for a few decades, and it's been a far longer and far more difficult process than I ever could have imagined. Yes, it's SO hard to get flooring replaced while still living in a place! And I still, 3 years later, careen around alternately bursting into tears because I miss him and cussing him out for some of the crazy 'fixes' he did or didn't do.

Just got an inspection done (a practice run by a fledgling inspector), and looks like the incompetent roofers of last winter are going to cost me even more money before it's all over with. It doesn't take much to get overwhelmed and depressed. Just having handymen/contractors in and out for weeks on end, you lose all control of your schedule and life. Times when I am alone with a lot of unstructured days, then at least I can sit down with a notebook first thing in the morning and assess what's going on and what needs to happen next. In a way, having the pressure to get things done and get out at least is forcing me to focus, or I would be questioning the point of getting out of bed.

This spring in an attempt to make deadlines, I resorted to 'Orders of the Day' on a bulletin board, where I would pick a few key things to get done, tack up colorful pieces of paper with one or two word tasks, "Scan" or "Paint" or "Calls". Helps to focus on just a couple items, and get the rest of the goblins out of your mind til their turn comes around.

Acme & other declutterers, I've made some progress since last post. A lot of it was delegated to contractors, but at least it's done. 4 new floors, 1 room painted, countertops rehabbed, lots of things fixed, garage half-emptied, a POD in the driveway to put stuff while the interior gets worked on, and the new house-on-wheels in the driveway. Essentially the bedrooms are empty or minimalist, and I am loath to put anything back in that is cluttery or heavy looking.   Ebaying is on hold til after a trip I have to take this month, but high hopes to work through a big stack.

Visited a home store yesterday looking for Corelle for the travel trailer, instead found lots of heavy bulky 'stuff' to put in houses, I wish the people shopping there could see how much of it they REALLY don't want to take into their house in the long run. I'll try a resale shop next, I probably don't need a full 'service for 4' anyway, just a couple plates, couple bowls.

Stay as cool and hydrated as you can, guys!
