Humor does something to soothe and relax me, so the more Terry Pratchett makes me laugh at my own shortcomings, the better. Humor releases the hold I have on my breath, trying not to break anything. Humor puts my desires and my dreams in their proper place, an antidote to the disturbed condition in which I prefer my desires and my dreams to what is real and authentic.
