Sir Francis Dashwood ; yes !! You can still see the infamous Golden Ball from the main road ;there may even be a link ,albeit tenuous, with the eponymous pub in Lower Assendon ,near Henley ,and of course Medmenham Abbey is close by, by the Thames ; spooky !
