I think that it's no mere coincidence that "Oscar" and "Amos" both contain the letters "A" and "S" and "O". I think that they might have been twins: the first, and older by a couple of minutes or so, named "Amos" (four letters) and the younger, second, twin named "Oscar" (five letters). They were probably separated very shortly after birth and adopted by two families, one on the East coast and one in the tumultuous prairies of Manitoba. It should come as no surprise that Amos is fluent in both Yiddish and Hebrew and that Oscar was adopted by a Jewish family.

Yes, separated by the legal system of the time, slowly they were moving back together. And now they are apart until that great curtain call Up Yonder.

It's probably too late for genetic testing, but you can't help wondering what it would reveal.
