There will no doubt be more and yet more displaced people, refugees and migrants of various kinds trying to reach a stable, peaceful place where they can find shelter and enough to eat. And hardly any of them will succeed. And those who stay in their lands in dire poverty and want will no doubt continue to scrape some sort of existence.
Those of us in a more fortunate position will continue to overeat, over-consume goods and pollute the planet yet more, disregarding the rest of the world.
'Twas ever thus... and 2017 will be no different.
