Thread Name: How many Mudcats have cats!?
Subject: RE: How many Mudcats have cats!?
I've had cats all my long life, usually four or five at a time. I used to show them at the General Cat Fancy shows, and in those days I had British Black Shorthairs. (dense jet-black fur and deep orange eyes) I won several Firsts and even a Premier medal (highest honour for neutered cats) with my lovely Ashmere Augustus (Gussie for short)
Then I started to have Siamese, and there was no going back. They're little monkeys but extremely affectionate and intelligent. Along the way, several poor little strays have found their way to my door, and being a soft twit I've taken them in.
Our cats now are two brothers (Minty and Murphy, one seal point and one blue point) and SmokeyPokey (blue point)
I've never had a cat that only wanted food and a nice fire. They've all been loving and wanting to be near me at all times. When my husband was in Africa last year, his 'favourite', Minty, pined for him dreadfully and spent the entire five weeks gazing out of the window hoping he'd see him coming home. When he finally arrived, the reunion brought tears to my eyes.
The only drawback with cats is their short life-span compared to ours. It's so hard to say goodbye, and the grief is terrible when you lose a cat. It never gets any easier.
