Not everybody likes "The Last Hero," but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everybody from Rincewind to Captain Carrot got in on that one, and we got an extended visit to Dunmanifestin, another witticism that always amuses me. I read the illustrated version, and in my opinion the detailed artwork enhanced the book greatly; but what was in the artwork was, admittedly, described in considerable verbal detail, bringing us back to the writing at the core of the book.
