Thread Name: BS: Are You a Progressive Nerd?
Subject: RE: BS: Are You a Progressive Nerd?
Assuming a Nerd is a highly educated individual in an area of digital science, environmental science/geology/atmospheric/oceanic, sociologic/habitat/urban planning/no till agriculture/organic farming expert and money is secondary to one's educational goals. THIS GROUP WILL INCLUDE THE PROFESSIONAL STUDENT.

I am mot a Nerd. I have an eclectic overview o all the sciences and the questions they have.

When I interview HS seniors about their future very few have plans after college. Those whose first aim is capital formation go for an MBA and law with a wish to have the freedom to pursue what their heart's desire may be. There are very few of these people. As rare are the kids who are specific in their educational pursuits and specific area of expertise.

1 College goals only
2 Financial goals
3 Career goals plus law degree
4 Specific goals

As a career grows specific their priorities produce relatively few cosmopolitan citizens that do not have money intensive goals

Well good for them but in the rush for money an empathy for Earth and its people start to evaporate as they get trained by corporate culture.

Nerds for the most part found an interest in college or became highly invested and trained in a technical job and stayed with it such as genetic technician, computer coder, medical testing...

Nerds are a rare breed. There are no nerd curriculum to enroll in as a freshman. A progressive nerd is two different things.

Naah, I still am not sure what a nerd is, an educated underachiever or a brilliant mind free of avarice.
