The funniest man I ever saw on stage, bar none ... I spent a fair bit of time with him at one of the early Gower Folk festivals and he had me permanently in stitches. I also remember changing the strings on his guitar for him, and having to get a pair of pliers to pull the bridgepins out, they were so tight ....

The funniest joke I ever heard him crack was about Tony Capstick buying his wife a vibrator .... the ostrich joke was hilarious as well, as was the one about words coming out wrong.

Can anyone remember the "cup of tea and a bun" joke ? I have a total memory blank about the punch line, although I heard him do it more than once.

RIP Derek, you will be sorely missed.
