I saw Derek give a most entertaining gig at the Islington Folk Club when it was in Liverpool Road, and literally a stone's throw from the street where he was born, Bromfield Street. I think he was quite tickled about that geographical coincidence, having moved away many years since. He was such a wit and a wag as well as being so talented.RIP Derek.
