The whole point of making comparisons is to identify any differences as well as any similarities. Comparing things doesn't mean they are identical

It's perfectly reasonable to compare any two political leaders, including Hitler and Trump. When you do it with that pair there are indeed some similarities, as Jim pointed out. It would be interesting to ferret out what significant differences there are.
