Have you ever wondered why belly button lint seems to be a male-only affliction? My theory is that it's because males are hairier. First, body hair attracts loose fiber particles from clothing. Second, since body hair on the torso and abdomen grows downward and toward the navel, it channels the lint to that particular resting place. One wonders if competitive swimmers, body builders, and men who just don't like being hairy (for whatever reason) collect belly button lint at all.
