I think I first heard of him at our National Folk Festival in 1983, and was greatly impressed with "Mary Ellen Carter" which I think was the first song of his I heard.

A few years ago a group of us did a presentation at the National of "Songs of Stan Rogers" and I like to think it went over very well.
