HOT DOG
As recorded by Buck Owens (as Corky Jones), 1957.

My baby works at a hot-dog stand,
A-makin' them hot dogs as fast as she can.
Up steps the capt'n, yells: "Don't be slow.
Gi' me two hot dogs ready to go."

CHORUS: Hot dog! She's my baby.
Hot dog! Drive me crazy.
Hot dog! Don't mean maybe.
Ya ought to seen my baby at the hot-dog stand.

In the cool of the evenin' when the sun goes down,
All the chicks an' the cats all gather roun'.
They order hot dogs an' red soda pop,
Then they head down the road to a hep-cat hop.

Well, I'm a-waitin' for my baby ever' night at twelve.
She closes up the shop and then we lose ourselves
At the hep-cat hop in a crazy way.
We're a-doin' the bop at the break of day.

Well all o' the cats ha' been a-hangin' around
Tryin' to get my baby, puttin' me down.
She either don't hear or she either don't care,
Or maybe it's the way that I part my hair.
