Yes, DaveRo, to just about everything you said.
I still have Window 7 at home, so it's befuddling and annoying trying to get into the heads of those pesky programmers who thought a change was as good as a holiday.
By intuitive, I mean that it's possible to figure it out with a bit of knowledge and a bit of thinking it through and a lot of natural progression from idea to result. It's a bit difficult to describe so I'll give an example.
I used to use a drawing programme called Deluxe Paint on a Commodore 64 - yes, I am THAT old! - and then bought a Microsoft computer and tried to use Corel Draw. Drawing and "painting" on the Commodore 64 was not a lot different to drawing and painting on paper. It all seemed intuitive. The ideas came and the means to achieve them were easy to figure out and easy to do.
Corel Draw on the other hand was like mentally pulling teeth while pulling my hair out at the same time.
Some years later, I had a bit of a go at the Mac drawing and graphics programmes a few times and it was like the Commodore. I didn't have to pick my mental state up out of the artistic or creative "zone" to try to work out how to achieve an effect or get an idea out of my head and into the computer. Mentally, the process was a lot like creating a painting in real life and I could lose myself in the process.
A bit off-topic perhaps, but that's what I meant by using the word "intuitive".
