Alas, I have been overlong away
And let our addle-pated mater stray
Out of the meadows, filled with sage
Into the darkling woods of rage

What in my folly led me to
Such unseemly wandering to do?
To yearn for life upon some other stage
Beyond the proper realm of men of age
And let our sainted Mom fall off the page.
