Thread Name: BS: I wanna be a pip
Subject: RE: BS: I wanna be a pip
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearl'd;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven—
All's right with the world!

Mum is known as Pip after Browning's "Pippa Passes"

She and her sister in law are both Elizabeth. Her father in law decided two Elizabeth's in the family would not do and that mum should be called Pip. I don't know why he picked on that one. The name stuck and many (including a few here) know her as Pip but as time's gone by, she's wanted more to be Elizabeth again. That said, I think she prefers being a Pip to being called Liz, Lizzie, Beth, etc.
