I recently upgraded the aging factory CD player on my 2003 Nissan Micra to a JVC KD-X241 digital music player costing a mere £45 plus Halfords fitting cost. This reads lossless FLAC as well as the usual wav (so CD quality!!!) and if you want it - mp3, from a memory stick, iphone or even a camera memory card in a usb adaptor.

It was a very fiddly job to change the unit and well worth the £30 fitting charge.
