I look at the menu and the first two sides are 'fries' and 'gourmet chips'. What are you trying to do to me? I have no idea if 'gourmet chips' is to be read as American or English. If they are both the same basic thing, call them both fries or both chips. Otherwise I assume you are making a distinction and 'gourmet chips' are actually what UKers would call 'gourmet crisps'.
