Didn't know I was quarter Polish Jew until I was over 18.
I was denied all knowledge of that aspect of my 'heritage'
because it was treated as some big dark hidden family secret.
It seems my Jewish Grandad was some kind of well off flash young rotter
who got my very attractive working class nan in the club [ with my mum ]
then refused to marry her because she was gentile and not classy enough for his family....???
My mum still didn't want me to make contact with him even after she'd told me the truth, she didn't want my nan upset raking up the past.
I had to respect her wishes...

Maybe he's the one I get my earthy 'drives' and fascination with women from.....????

But funnily enough, I've always had an affinity for klezma and dark haired women...
