Marion - I think that playing music IS communing with God, as are a multitude of other activities, so in order to commune with God more, why not play more music? Any worthwhile activity can become communion with God, not just activites of an outwardly "religious" sort, such as being in church or praying.

As for selling everything and giving the money to the poor..well, then you'd be poor too. Then what? What next? I don't think it would actually help, but I do think that a general sharing of things among people on a more equal basis across the whole of society would help.
