Winter Storm Frankie is in shreds now;
but some of the shreds will bring snow
to Long Island Sound and the shoreline thereabouts.

The unusual cold
is causing some cancellations, on the Atlantic coast,
of the New Year's Day annual Polar Bear plunges
by scantily dressed males into the ocean water.
No one wants anybody to die of their dip into the water.
